Follow Life’s Flow: Be Water
“Be water, my friend.” Paraphrasing the famous phrase by Bruce Lee, which implies adaptability and making the most of every situation, I’d like to share a related story.
Choosing to “be water” is among the finest decisions you can make to truly live and expand in profound ways. However, this adaptability must be approached consciously.
Merely molding yourself to fit into every environment can be draining. It might feel like burnout, but it’s more about overloading your mind with information that doesn’t necessarily guide you towards your dreams.
This used to be me.
I was like water, filling every cup I encountered. This isn’t inherently negative, but only if you understand your nature. I didn’t recognise that I was this adaptable entity.
Now, while I remain adaptable, I choose the environments I wish to fill. What began as a survival mechanism has become one of my greatest strengths.
In the past, I felt I had no choice but to fit into every environment I found myself in. As I detailed in a previous post, “Dare to be different, dare to be you”, I strived to belong everywhere. I believed that was the only way to survive. It made me listen actively, observe intently, learn, and adapt.
